Tahltan Communications has officially begun construction on a project which will bring high-speed internet access to Tahltan territory.
Over the course of the project, more than 200 kms of fibre-optic cable will be installed, connecting with the BC Hydro Northwest Transmission Line.
In total, the project will cost $13 million, and is made possible thanks to a partnership between the Tahltan Nation Development Corporation, and CityWest.
By early 2023, the project will see the communities of Iskut and Dease Lake both connected with high-speed Gigabit connectivity.
