A memorandum of understanding has been signed by BC Housing and the Wuikinuxv-Kitasoo-Nuxalk Tribal Council in order to work together to improve on-reserve housing quality.
This agreement will last for 3 years and it will see Housing Minister David Eby, the WKNTC Chiefs and BC Housing join forces and think of a Nation-specific housing management and maintenance plan.
The partnership will also see the Council’s Senior leadership and BC Housing work on educating and training Nation members on how to manage their housing supply through the long term.
The council also stated that they make sure that their housing meets industry standards in all areas and that they will also attempt to get third party capital funding to ensure their housing remains in top tier condition.
