A local state of emergency has been declared by the City of Terrace in order to conduct necessary repairs to Frank Street.
While it does cover the entire city, the declaration is solely to facilitate the Frank Street repairs, funded by Emergency Management BC, to prevent a future washout.
A separate state of emergency has been maintained for Area “C” of the Regional District of Kitimat-Stikine, as well as an evacuation order for Usk and the Northwest portion of Old Remo.
An evacuation alert remains in place for the remainder of Old Remo, with a map available at this link, as well as Usk and Dutch Valley.
Also under an evacuation alert are the Ebeneezer Flats and Quick Station areas of the Bulkley Valley, as well as the Riverside Park Campground, Riverside Drive, and the Fall Fair Grounds in Smithers.
Both the Skeena and Bulkley Rivers, as well as their tributaries near Terrace, Smithers, Telkwa, Hazelton and Kispiox, are still under a Flood Watch.
A Flood Warning is in effect covering the Liard River and its tributaries near Fort Nelson and Watson Lake.
And a High Streamflow Advisory is still in place for the Stikine water basin near Dease Lake and Telegraph Creek.
But water levels have begun to recede in both the Skeena and Bulkley Rivers, with peak flow predictions now in the past.
