School District 82 Deems Monday Threat at Skeena Middle School Low Risk and Unrealistic

School District 82 says a vague threat aimed at Skeena Middle School on Monday was not substantial enough to involve RCMP.

Alongside the Safer Schools Together organization, the District spoke with students and reviewed video, before ultimately deeming the threat to be low risk.

District Superintendent Janet Meyer says staff followed a strict process to determine the threat level before determining it to not be realistic.

According to the District, the threat came from a school community member, but staff were able to settle the matter without involving law enforcement.
