Northern BC is to going to be getting access to brand new substance-use and mental-health services as part of the Province’s historic investment into those services.
With BC trying to expand their continuum of care in the Northern Health area, a new sobering and assessment facility is going to be built in Prince George to help serve the region.
The official address of the facility will be 1201 1st Ave. in Prince George and it will have as many as five beds available 24/7 so that those under the influence can rest in a safe place and have access to things like showers and other basic needs.
In addition to the facility, the Province will also be getting help from partners to build complex-care housing in the North to further support people struggling with mental-health and substance use issues.
The Sobering Centre is expected to be opened sometime in the Fall of this year.
