At Prince Rupert’s City Council meeting back on Monday, the city’s new officer in charge of the RCMP introduced himself to the council members.
After spending the previous half decade in Lake Louise, Sergeant Gerald Walker is now taking up a major role in Prince Rupert’s policing system.
Walker gave a brief introduction of himself to the Councillors and then talked about ways that he could help improve the city.
Councillors did mention some major issues that they would like to see dealt with such as open drinking and vehicles without licence plates and flat tires.
They asked about the RCMP potentially bringing back a monthly report of statistics that used to be done and Walker agreed that it could be brought back.
