Travelers are now able to fly without worrying about COVID restrictions.
After enduring pressure from the tourism sector for months, Ottawa has dropped the requirement of having to produce proof of vaccination for domestic flights and those traveling to Canada internationally.
Now it’s hoped that the move will help tourism numbers pick up in the northwest.
Travel agents in the region say they have seen an up-tick in travel over the past few months.
But the area may take longer to recover from the COVID restrictions because travelers need to book in advance.
Now concerns have switched to the situation at large airports where travelers have been having to wait in endless lines due to restrictions clogging up the system.
But with the restrictions being lifted, more people are rushing to travel and that high number of people will still result in long line ups.
