Most of the province is covered under a slew of special weather statements issued by Environment Canada, due to rising temperatures.
In the North, weather statements are in place in the Bulkley Valley and Lakes, Cariboo, Dease Lake, and sections of the South Peace.
Temperatures are expected to hit the high-20s today, and rise in to the low-30s this weekend through the early part of next week.
While the province does not expect a heat warning to be put in place, they are urging residents to be prepared to tackle the heat.
Residents are advised to drink plenty of water, avoid alcohol and salty snacks, take cool showers when feeling hot, and to find places both indoors and out to cool down.
So far, the River Forecast Centre is not predicting the warming to have a heavy impact on the Northwest, but with elevated snow packs, that could change.
Wildfire risks are also higher in warmer temperatures, and residents are advised to avoid starting blazes in the extreme temperatures.
