A new Collective Agreement has been reached between the City of Terrace and the union which represents its staff.
Signed by CUPE Local 2012, the agreement replaces one which expired in December of last year, and is retro-actively effective as of January of this year.
Under the new 5 year-agreement, employees will see wage increases of 3.5 percent this year, and an average of 2.9 percent annually for the remainder.
Improvements to medical and family benefits are also made in the agreement, along with other benefits.
Both parties say they are pleased to have reached an agreement which both acknowledge as fair, given the current financial climate.
