Prince Rupert and Port Edward residents may notice a bit of a fowl stench in the air, but there is no need for concern.
Due to extra odour in Pacific Northern Gas’s fuel lines today, residents may pick up on the scent of rotten eggs.
That scent is caused by a harmless odourant added to the lines to alert people of the presence of normally odourless natural gas.
But, neither the additive nor the scent itself pose a threat to community members.
However, if you do suspect a gas leak, PNG can be reached directly at all hours at 1 800 663 1173 to investigate.
