A number of wildfires sprouted up in the Northwest Fire Centre over the long weekend, some of which remain active.
One such blaze was sparked by lightning along Shaft Creek, south of Telegraph Creek, and is currently listed as out of control, covering 0.5 hectares so far.
A second lightning caused fire, west of Telegraph Creek near North Chutine Lake, is still listed as new, and is covering 1.25 hectares.
Lightning is also to blame for an active fire along Blue River, west of Highway 37 near Lower Post, which is also listed as out of control, but covers 210 hectares.
Another blaze in the same area, but east of the Highway is currently being held at 2.1 hectares.
Meanwhile, a blaze which popped up along Highway 37 near Lakelse Lake this weekend has been extinguished, with no cause determined.
