Thousands of spectators were evacuated yesterday as a shooting brought the 94th annual Williams Lake Stampede to an abrupt end.
Police were initially called out to the stampede grounds for reports of the shooting at around 3:30 in the afternoon.
A quick and calm response from competitors and event operators helped to quickly evacuate the grounds.
RCMP have arrested 33 year-old Jordell Sellars in connection with the shooting, which sent two to hospital.
Sellars is now facing charges of attempted murder and discharging a firearm with intent to endanger life.
While the extent of their injuries have not been disclosed, RCMP say both victims are expected to survive.
Anyone with any information or video footage they believe to be of assistance in the investigation is asked to contact Williams Lake RCMP at 250 392 6211.
