A number of lightning caused blazes are keeping the Wildfire Service busy in the Northwest Fire Centre today.
One blaze, west of Highway 37 and north of Blue River near the Yukon border has grown to 1,661 hectares, and is currently listed as out of control.
Just west of there, south of the Jennings Lakes is another out of control fire, covering 65 hectares.
Further west, along the Jennings River is a new wildfire covering 280 hectares, and another new blaze south of Atlin Lake is covering 7 hectares.
An out of control blaze is covering 384 hectares in the east portion of Stikine River Park.
Two fires are listed as out of control near Telegraph Creek, one covering 1 hectare near Shaft Creek to the south, and one covering 3 hectares west near Chutine Lake.
Three smaller fires have popped up along Highway 37, all still listed as new, with unknown causes.
Those include: a 0.01 hectare blaze near Bonney Lake, a 2 hectare fire near the Meziadin Junction, and a 1.2 hectare fire near Kinaskan Lake Park.
