Numerous lightning-caused blazes continue to keep Wildfire Service crews busy in the Northwest today.
Currently covering just over 2,000 hectares, an out of control fire west of Highway 37, near Lower Post near Blue River is the largest of those.
Two fires in the mountains west of there are also listed as out of control, covering 65 hectares south of Jennings Lake, and 280 hectares along the Jennings River to the west.
A 7 hectare blaze burning southeast of Atlin Lake is also listed as out of control, along with a 3 hectare blaze north of Chutine Lake.
A fire covering 382 hectares in the eastern portion of Stikine River Park is also currently listed as out of control.
Two fires are burning at Kinaskan Lake Park, one listed as out of control and one new, covering a combined 1.2 hectares.
A new, small fire is also being reported just off Highway 37, near Bob Quinn Lake.
A cluster of five small fires are all burning around Highway 37, near the Meziadin Junction, with the largest covering 2 hectares.
