Lightning sparked fires continue to keep wildfire crews busy in the northern portion of the Northwest Fire Centre.
Currently listed as out of control, the largest of those is a 3,250 hectare blaze north of Blue River and west of Highway 37, near Lower Post.
Across the highway from there, a new fire measuring 6 hectares is burning opposite Wheeler Lake.
Two out of control blazes are burning in the mountains west of there, one covering 65 hectares near the Jennings Lakes, and a 900 hectare fire along Jennings River, west of there.
A 15 hectare fire near Canyon Creek is also listed as out of control, though a fire burning south of there at Adsit Lake is now being held.
Another fire on the eastern side of Stikine River Park, covering 384 hectares, is still listed as out of control.
A cluster of small fires that popped up north of Meziadin Junction have now either been extinguished, are under control, or are being held.
