All British Columbians aged 12 and older will be able to get a second Covid-19 booster dose this Fall.
Currently, second boosters are only available in BC for those aged 70 or older, Indigenous people aged 55 or older, and the immune compromised.
Those who believe they need a second booster immediately, and are not immune compromised, can contact the BC Immunization Call Centre to make arrangements.
But, the province is recommending residents not in the vulnerable group wait until the Fall, when respiratory illnesses tend to hit peak spread.
Residents who have already received a second booster are also recommended to get another shot in the Fall.
They plan to send out invitations beginning in September, and hope to have boosters for the 5 to 11 age group cleared by Health Canada this month.
All residents must still wait at least six months after receiving their first booster to be eligible for a second.
