Since July 1st, wildfire crews have responded to 37 new wildfires in the Cassiar and Northern Skeena Fire Zones.
Of those, 24 have been extinguished, and 5 are listed as either being held or under control.
None of the active fires are impacting any infrastructure or communities, and all were sparked by wildfire activity, mostly near the Yukon border.
With changing weather conditions and cooler temperatures in the forecast, the Wildfire Service is expecting fewer fires to pop up.
Currently, more than half of the wildfires active in BC are burning in the Northwest Fire Centre.
