Since July 1st, wildfire crews have responded to 37 new wildfires in the Cassiar and Northern Skeena fire Zones alone.
Of those, all were caused by lightning near the Yukon border, and 24 have been extinguished, and 5 are listed as out of control.
Among those, the largest is a 4,700 hectare fire west of Highway 37 and north of Blue River near Lower Post.
West of there is a 65 hectare blaze near the Jennings Lakes, a 906 hectare fire further west along Jennings River, and one covering 20 hectares near Tahoots Lake.
A fire straddling the Yukon border near Tagish Lake, covering 150 hectares, is the final out of control fire in the Northwest Fire Centre.
8 other fires burning in the Centre are listed as either under control, or being held by the Wildfire Service.
