Both the province and the North saw an increase in Covid cases last week, although hospitalizations are still trending down, according to the CDC’s weekly report.
Between July 3rd and 9th, the province saw 973 new cases of Covid-19, up from 765 the week before.
Hospitalizations, however, dropped to 211, provincewide, down from 220 the prior week, with 22 deaths within 30 days of testing positive.
Northern Health reported 65 new cases, up from 34, with 11 new hospitalizations, down from 9 the week before, and 2 new deaths.
By Local Health Area, Terrace saw 7 new cases, Haida Gwaii reported 4, Burns Lake saw 0, and the Stikine also reported 0 new cases.
Prince Rupert saw 6 new cases, Kitimat saw 2, Smithers also had 2, but the Nisga’a and Upper Skeena Health Areas saw 0 cases.
