While on his tour of Northern BC, Liberal Leader Kevin Falcon made a stop in Terrace yesterday to talk with city council about issues like homelessness, infrastructure, crime and drugs.
He said that the provincial government should be the ones to step up on all of those issues because unlike the individual cities in BC, they can afford to fix the problems.
Falcon also focused on mental health at the meeting, saying that the current approach to the subject in BC is failing people with mental health issues.
Falcon’s solution for fixing said issue is making a large investment and then actually giving people with those issues actual 24/7 support.
By making that investment, Falcon believes a lot of chaos and crime would leave the streets.
Another thing Falcon harped on is that repeat criminal offenders in Terrace, as well as the rest of BC, need to be dealt consequences so they can stop getting away with their actions.
