Covid cases rose in the north last week, despite BC seeing fewer cases as a whole, according to the CDC’s most recent weekly report.
Province-wide BC saw 921 new cases reported between July 17th and the 23rd, down from 1,043 the week before.
Total hospitalizations in the province dropped from 293 to 222 last week, while ICU admissions rose from 36 to 39, with 29 deaths within 30 days of testing positive.
Northern Health saw 62 new cases last week, up from 50 the week before, along with 15 hospitalizations, 4 ICU admissions, and three deaths.
By Local Health Area, Terrace and Prince Rupert led the Northwest with 5 new cases, Burns Lake saw 3, Haida Gwaii and the Stikine reported two, and Smithers reported one new case.
