There are now four wildfires of note burning in BC, both in the Kamloops Fire Centre, though the largest continues to burn in the Northwest Centre.
That fire is now covering over 11,000 hectares west of Highway 37 and north of Blue River, near Lower Post, but as of this morning, has been listed as being held.
For the time being, however, it is not threatening any homes or infrastructure.
The same cannot be said for the Nahomin Creek Fire, which has now grown to over 3,000 hectares near Lytton, and has prompted a number of evacuation orders.
Meanwhile, a new fire which sparked this weekend near Keremeos Creek, south of Penticton, and is now covering 2,300 hectares, has also prompted an evacuation order.
Another fire popped up around Watching Creek recently, just North of Kamloops and is covering 195 hectares.
The fourth fire of note is located nearby Maria Creek, which is north of Lillooet, and is estimated to be covering 45 hectares.
Precipitation this week is expected to lower wildfire risks in many areas, but will be accompanied by possible thundershowers in regions such as the Interior and Peace.
