A wildfire which sprouted up north of Rosswood yesterday is now listed as out of control by the Wildfire Service.
Believed to be human-caused, the fire is now covering 50 hectares near the intersection with Kalum Lake Road and the South Douglas Forest Service Road.
At the moment, the fire is not threatening any homes or infrastructure, and a wildfire service crews is on site with a helicopter, battling the blaze.
Meanwhile, smoke from the wildfire has prompted Environment Canada to issue an air quality statement for inland sections of the Northcoast, near Terrace.
Residents are advised to remain indoors as much as possible to avoid irritation and reduce smoke exposure, especially the elderly, children, pregnant women, and those with respiratory conditions.
