A wildfire which sprouted up near Kalum Lake Road, north of Rosswood is not posing a threat to homes or infrastructure at the moment.
According to the Wildfire Service, that fire is covering 20 hectares near the intersection with South Douglas Forest Service Road, and is believed to be human-caused.
It is still officially listed as new, but helicopters and crews have been seen on site.
Meanwhile, a number of fires are threatening homes in the province, specifically 8 wildfires of note in the Kamloops and Southeast Fire Centres.
Now covering nearly 7,000 hectares, the Keremeos Creek fire near Penticton is the largest of those, while the Nahomin Creek fire near Lytton is still covering over 3,100 hectares.
Fires of note are also burning north of Kamloops and Lillooet, south of Cranbrook, west of Kaslo and Sparwood, and along the US border near the Alberta border.
Related smoke in the area has also prompted Environment Canada to issue an air quality advisory for inland sections of the Northcoast near Terrace.
Residents are advised to remain indoors as much as possible to avoid irritation and reduce smoke exposure.
