Terrace City Council have approved a bylaw amendment to rezone two properties to eventually be subdivided to create new affordable housing.
That amendment will see the properties at 5013 Halliwell Avenue and 4007 Thomas Street split into three zones to align them with corresponding subdivision applications.
Plans are for the lots to eventually be used to construct 47 lots for semi-detached residential housing, 13 strata-zoned lots, and 8 smaller scale single-detached residential lots.
According to the developer, the lots will be kept small to reduce construction costs and dwelling size to offer affordable market housing options.
