It appears that the Northwest Fire Centre has had a few more wildfires appear or grow larger overnight.
The number of fires currently burning in the Centre is now back up to 18, with 7 listed as out of control and one listed as new, which is suspected to be caused by lightning.
Two small lightning caused fires are burning south of Tesla Lake, near Tweedsmuir Provincial Park, while six more are burning just north of there near Watuk Lake, St Thomas Bay, and the Nechako Reservoir near Tahtsa Lake.
However, the fire that appeared near Cummin Creek has now been listed as out of control and has grown to cover 257 hectares and another new fire has appeared near Pondosy Bay and it’s suspected that lightning is the cause.
The fire burning at the confluence of the Morice River and Gosnell Creek has seemingly been put out as well.
