A report on an investigation into BC’s problem with prolific offenders is not going to be released until the middle part of next month.
This investigation is being conducted by a policing and criminal justice expert, Doug LePard, as well as a mental health and criminal justice systems expert, Amanda Butler.
This report will reportedly have input from multiple sources such as mayors, police, health authorities and many more.
However, both experts have inferred that they need more time to complete the report and it will now be released mid-September instead of the initially planned September 2nd.
This news comes only a few days after Terrace City Council finally got a response to their letter asking what will be done about prolific offenders that they sent to Minister of Public Safety Mike Farnworth back in April.
They read Farnworth’s response at their regular meeting on Monday and expressed that they were disappointed with the lack of information in it.
