When it comes to wildfires that are taking place in the Northwest Fire Centre, the number of fires has been steadily decreasing over the past couple of days and now the ones that are left are becoming less of a problem.
The number of fires currently burning in the Centre is down to 11 and there is now only 1 fire that is listed as out of control.
Two small lightning caused fires are burning south of Tesla Lake, near Tweedsmuir Provincial Park, while five more are burning just north of there near Watuk Lake, Pondosy Bay, and the Nechako Reservoir near Tahtsa Lake and nearly all of those fires are now either under control or being held.
The only fire in that vicinity that is still listed as out of control is the one near Cummin Creek and it still covers 330 hectares.
The other fire in centre that was listed as out of control yesterday, the one north of Blue River, is currently listed as being held.
