It was announced earlier today that an Indigenous theatre troupe is going to be touring throughout Northern BC in the coming months.
The group known as the Raven Collective will be performing their recently finished BUNK #7 project that will be performed throughout the North, starting in Terrace at the Rem Lee theatre at 7 PM on September 29th.
After that, the Collective is expected to make stops in Smithers, Kitimat, Prince George, Prince Rupert, Nass Valley, Fort St John, Fort Nelson and Dawson Creek.
This project was apparently created over a 20-year span and it was written by late Nisga’a lawyer and politician Larry Guno.
BUNK #7 tells the true story of six Indigenous boys who instigated a riot at an Edmonton Residential School in 1960-61.
