After 9 consecutive days of negotiating, the B.C. General Employees’ Union and the Provincial Government have reached a new, tentative contract agreement.
This agreement comes after 7 total months of negotiations and a two-week worker strike.
The union represents over 33,000 provincial workers and over 95 percent of those workers decided to go that on strike.
The BCGEU officially confirmed the tentative agreement in a statement that was released earlier today.
An official date for workers to vote on whether or not the contract’s terms are acceptable has not been set yet.
