With just two days left for nominees to put their names forward for this year’s municipal elections, a number of local races are starting to fill out.
In Terrace, three new names are looking to fill the 6 available council seats, including Chris Apps, Martin Holzbauer, and Sarah Zimmerman.
Four incumbent Councillors, James Cordeiro, Lynne Christiansen, Brian Downie, and Dave Gordon are also vying for those spots.
So far, only current councillor Sean Bujtas has put his name forward to replace out-going mayor Carole Leclerc.
Meanwhile, in Smithers, Mayor Gladys Atrill has also announced her intent to run for re-election, as has Kitimat mayor Phil Germuth, neither of which have competition so far.
In Prince Rupert, Chrystopher Thompson is the only nominee to replace Mayor Lee Brain so far, with two incumbents and three new nominees running for 6 council spots.
