A man who held up a Fort Nelson A&W at gunpoint last Thursday didn’t make it too far after fleeing the restaurant on foot.
Northern Rockies RCMP were called to the scene for reports of an armed robbery just before 11:00 in the morning.
A man had reportedly walked up to the drive-thru window alone, toting a shotgun, and demanding money, before fleeing the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash.
Police set up a containment area around the restaurant, and were able to locate the gun hidden in some nearby brush.
After a lengthy foot chase, police were able to apprehend 37 year-old Ian McMillan, who is being held in custody.
He will face charges of armed robbery using a restricted or prohibited firearm, pointing a firearm, possession of stolen property, and resisting a peace officer.
