A Coastal GasLink work camp which once housed more than 800 workers has now been converted back into viable farmland.
Decommissioned in 2021, CGL has performed extensive work to restore agricultural productivity to the site of the former Vanderhoof Lodge.
Deep-rooted tillage radishes were planted along 16.5 acres of former farmland, in an effort that will soon see 48 acres transformed into farmland.
CGL also worked with McTavish Resource and Management Consultants and local experts to implement nutrient management planning tools and optimize future production.
In their August update, the company said the 670 km pipeline was now 69 percent complete, with the Vanderhoof stretch being one of 2 of the 8 sections to be fully completed.
