Skeena Middle School called on RCMP this morning after a concerning message, directed toward the school, was posted on social media yesterday.
According to RCMP, the post was shared as an image with a black background, and text urging students not to go to school, stating that they heard there was going to be a shooting.
It was also tagged with @Skeena kids.
School Administrators say they initiated established processes and protocols out of an abundance of precaution.
RCMP determined the incident to be low risk, but stationed officers on site at the school, as well as Caledonia Secondary today, to monitor the situation.
Parents and guardians of students can contact the administration if they seek additional information.
