Challenging market conditions are prompting Canfor to temporarily reduce production at the majority of their solid wood facilities in BC.
A two-week production curtailment will begin on September 26th, after which they will resume on a reduced operation schedule through 2022.
According to the forest products company, the curtailment is expected to result in a capacity reduction of around 200 million board feat.
In order to limit the impact on employees, Canfor says they will have the opportunity to work on maintenance projects and other site activities during their downtime.
