Smoke may be visible in Williams Lake and surrounding areas as early as today, as wildfire crews plan for a prescribed burn.
Conducted by the Williams Lake First Nation and Cariboo-Chilcotin Forest District, alongside the Wildfire Service, the burn is intended to reduce wildfire hazards and promote forest restoration.
Burning is planned to begin today, weather permitting, and will cover 137 hectares in the Bond Lake area.
Smoke may also be visible to those travelling along Highway 20, Dog Creek Road, or Bond Lake Road.
