After a little over a year of construction, the new Mills Memorial Hospital is beginning to look more like a hospital, and less like a construction site.
That shift will continue this week, with crews set to begin the four-day process of removing the two towering cranes from the site on Friday.
With exterior work progressing noticeably, and all construction materials now delivered to the upper floor, the cranes are no longer needed.
But, work on the $622 million facility, which began last July, is still not expected to wrap up until Fall of 2024.
Once the work is completed, the new hospital will be more than double the size of the existing facility, with 78 total beds across 356,000 square feet.
