According to a report from the Provincial government, several areas of BC are having issues with drought and water scarcity after the past five weeks have not seen any rainfall.
The areas in question are the northeast, west and south and the dry weather does not appear as if it will let up, according to the forecast.
Places like the Fort Nelson basin and the Lower Mainland basin and currently listed at drought level 4, which means that conditions are extremely dry and adverse effects to socio-economic or ecosystem values are likely.
Basins that are under drought level 3, which is when conditions become severely dry and serious ecosystem or socio-economic effects are possible, include the North Peace, South Peace and East Peace basins.
All water users under drought level 3 or 4 are being asked to reduce their water use whenever possible.
