Leaders from several Pacific Coast governments met in San Francisco today to sign a new agreement which will guide collaborative climate action.
Premier John Horgan represented BC, signing the Statement of Cooperation alongside California, Oregon, Washington, and several urban cities.
Recognizing that the west coast is disproportionately impacted by climate emergencies, the group looks to lead the world in developing climate solutions.
Included in the agreement are a number of commitment areas, including: supporting an equitable transition to climate resiliency, prioritizing investments in overburdened communities, investing in climate infrastructure, and protecting communities from wildfires, floods, heatwaves, and more.
