In an announcement from a couple of days ago, it was revealed that a newly introduced contract and incentive program was bringing in lots of new family physicians to BC.
In total, 54 doctors have signed contracts to become family doctors in BC since the start of the month.
And in a newer release, it was said that several contracts that have been initiated by applicants for those in the North.
However, due to negotiations not being completed yet, it is not currently known how many have applied for a job in the North nor how many positions in the North will be filled when negotiations are finished.
But the Ministry of Health is still working with Northern Health to provide information to both physicians and medical students looking to practice family medicine in Northern BC.
