During last week, the Kitimat RCMP had a few incidents that involved people being impaired in their vehicles.
In the early morning of October 7th, a traffic stop was conducted on a driver that was found to be speeding and when it was determined the driver was under the influence of alcohol, they were given a driving prohibition and the vehicle was impounded.
During another early morning, this time on October 10th, RCMP got a report of a possibly intoxicated driver and as a result, found a driver passed out behind the wheel, then gave the driver a 90-day immediate roadside driving prohibition and impounded their vehicle for 30 days after the driver refused a breathalyser test.
On October 12th, Police got a report of a driver potentially being impaired by cannabis and when they conducted a traffic stop on said driver and their vehicle, it was determined the driver did take cannabis and was then given a ticket for having an expired licence, in addition to getting a driving prohibition and getting their vehicle impounded.
