With Terrace going through mainly cold nights and rainy days as of late, residents are being reminded to start getting ready for winter.
Namely, people are being reminded to take precautions while driving since we are entering the most dangerous driving season of the year and it applies to everyplace that gets snow.
And in order to really make sure that everyone gets the message, the 14th annual Shift into Winter campaign, which is supported by the Winter Driving Safety Alliance and managed by Road Safety at Work, was launched earlier this month.
The Campaign’s goal is to reduce the number of winter-related crashes, injuries, and deaths on roads in BC.
The main methods that have been suggested to help people drive safer include installing winter tires, which is required by law in BC, recalling safe winter driving practices and adjusting from the attitude that one may have during summer driving.
