According to a recently leaked report, it’s been recommended by the person in charge of the BC NDP leadership race that one of the race’s candidates, Anjali Appadurai, be disqualified from the race after she was investigated for breaking campaign rules.
The rules that she supposedly broke involved her improperly co-ordinating with third parties to try and get residents to sign up for NDP party membership by September 4th to vote in the race.
If Appadurai is removed from the race, the only eligible candidate left to succeed outgoing Premier John Horgan would be former Housing Minister David Eby.
The decision on Appadurai’s candidacy is expected to be made after a meeting later today.
