Telus stated that the interruption of their service to mobile text, voice and data, optiktv, home phone, internet, and television yesterday was caused by a motor vehicle accident that damaged a cable.
Terrace, Kitimat, Prince Rupert, Hazelton, Kitseguecla, Kitwanga and Kitwancool were all impacted and even some communities in Northern Alberta were also affected.
Telus posted a notice on their website last night notifying people of the situation.
All services in Northern BC now seem to be up and running again.
Telus also had a similar situation not to long ago that effected a lot of Canada as Telus company officials were called to Ottawa for a meeting and were told make sure such a wide-spread outage wouldn’t happen again.
They even have been running TV ads saying they have invested millions to make sure it doesn’t happen again.
It has not been confirmed if Ottawa will call company officials back for more discussions.
