After a vote that took place yesterday, Anjali Appadurai has officially been removed from the BC NDP Leadership race.
The main reason that she was disqualified from the running was due to a leaked report that accused her of breaking campaign rules by improperly co-ordinating with third parties to try and get residents to sign up for NDP party membership by September 4th to vote in the race.
With Appadurai now out of the race, Outgoing Premier John Horgan has sent out a statement saying that MP David Eby will be declared party leader tomorrow.
B-C Green Party Leader Sonia Furstenau sent out her own statement, saying Appadurai “spoke honestly” about the overlapping health care, climate, and affordability crises’ and calls her disqualification a “sad day for democracy.”
