According to the recently released National Rent Report that was put together by Rentals.ca and Bullpen Research & Consulting, Canada’s average rent has jumped up to $2,043 per month in September.
Since the recent low of rent being $1,676 per month in April of last year, rent across the country has risen 21.9 percent.
Rent in Canada is about $100 more than it was at the pre-pandemic peak level from the fall of 2019.
In BC alone, rent has risen 31.2 percent over the past year with it being $2,044 a month last September and it being $2,682 a month this September.
BC’s average rent number happens to currently be the highest in the entire country at the moment, when accounting for all property types.
