As of today, David Eby is now officially the leader of B-C’s New Democratic Party.
According to a party official, there wasn’t any fanfare, Eby simply assumed the position at 9:30 AM, right before he gave an address in Vancouver, his first as soon to be premier, where he talked about his to do list for the next 100 days.
Eby stated that his long term goal is to use the skills he accrued working as a lawyer on Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside to listen to people, hear them out and then implement what they want to see.
As for his immediate goals, Eby said that he intends to focus on public safety, housing, health care and climate change.
