As the war in Ukraine rages on, thousands of people are seeking to get out of the war zone and some of the fortunate ones have found their way to Canada and into Northwest BC.
And to help refugees feel welcome, the Prince Rupert Society for refugee support is putting on a dinner that will feature authentic Ukrainian dishes prepared by some of the refugees who have settled in Rupert.
The dinner will happen November 5th at the Highliner Hotel ballroom and will feature, aside from the delicious food, live music, a desert and loonie auctions.
Tickets are $50 and available earlier at tickets.com/lestercentre/highliner-ukrainian-dinner or at the door.
All of the proceeds will go to support the on-going efforts of the society.
It’s been touted as a great way to greet the new arrivals as well as a chance to sample traditional Ukrainian foods.
