At last night’s Kitimat City Council meeting, Mayor Phil Germuth and the rest of Council bid farewell to three outgoing councillors.
With Municipal Elections taking place recently, this week saw the final council meeting for the last configuration of council across BC before all the cities move onto their new versions of council.
In the case of Kitimat, the three council members that won’t be returning for another term are Rob Goffinet, Lani Gibson and Mark Zilenski.
The mayor and each of the councillors that will remain all gave the outgoing members a personal goodbye, with Gofffinet being given a hard time over the length of his speeches, Gibson being praised for her environmental work and passion for active transportation and Zilenski being remembered for his dedication to solving every issue in the District of Kitimat.
All the outgoing councillors also gave their own send off speech before the meeting ended.
