District of Kitimat under water quality advisory

As of recently, the District of Kitimat has put their water system under a Water Quality Advisory.

Until the advisory is lifted, which won’t be until further notice, Northern Health is recommending that children, pregnant women, the elderly and people with weakened immune systems drink boiled water for the time being.

The advisory will officially be lifted whenever the District decides to put out another public notice saying that it has been rescinded or amended.

The reason for the advisory was not given out at this time.
